Hilton Head Island Dance Instruction

Hilton Head Island has three or four dance studios offering instruction to couples for their wedding day. The average recommended time between beginning classes to dancing at the reception is at least six months in order for you to gain comfort with each other as dancing partners and for the instructor to choreograph moves that you both can learn in that time. In addition, dance instructors are aware of the stresses that follow a wedding and the closer the big day is, the less likely the couple is to find the time to learn moves. The typical suggested dances for couples to learn are the traditional waltz or the foxtrot with the occasional tango, but the dance depends on the music or song you will be dancing to. You will also want to keep in mind the theme of your wedding:  moderate music will compliment a traditional wedding, twirling to medieval chords will flatter a Midsummer Night’s Dream theme, and dancing a high-energy samba at a Latin-themed reception will be fun for all to watch. Pick a dance that you and your fiancé can both grasp smoothly, because all eyes will be on you. Dance classes are offered in groups or private lessons, and of course the individual sessions are more expensive but the couple gets more attention.
