The vacation atmosphere of the Island incorporates an air of relaxation, probably due to the multitude of salons and spas in the area. Any beauty treatment can be found within a few miles including waxing, hair styling, massages, manicure and pedicure services, and skin treatments. For facial waxing, clinicians recommend getting hair removed within the week but at least 2 days before the wedding so that the skin will not be red, nor will the make up slide off the new, smooth texture; also, any new growth can be tweezed quickly. For other bodily waxing, a few days is fine (and always tell your aesthetician or stylist if you are on any medications in order to prevent inconvenient and unseemly reactions to products they may use).

A facial, full body massage, manicure, or a whole spa day is a fabulous way to relax and de-stress in the midst of your planning, not to mention help you look even more beautiful with glowing skin and lots of energy on your big day. Salons usually offer bridal packages, which are tailored to each bride’s preferences including hairstyling, make-up application, manicures/pedicures, and a facial or a massage. Facials can be performed the day of the wedding, followed by make-up; aestheticians actually recommend them right before the ceremony because of their relaxing qualities.
Start getting an extra hour of sleep every night at least a month before the big day. Sufficient sleep not only improves your mood and energy levels, but your complexion as well. Also, and this is probably most important, don’t stress about losing 15 pounds to fit into a size 2 gown; as one bride said, you won’t look like yourself in your photos and you won’t enjoy the planning as much.
