Live music can get expensive; most bands will not accept less than a few thousand for the few hours of playing time they offer. Also, keep in mind the legal aspects of having a loud band playing in a public area; make sure to check with the local government for noise ordinances. Live bands can be a lot of fun, and make for memorable receptions, but remember that a higher cost is associated with the extra entertainment. If your wedding is on a tight budget, you may prefer a disc jockey, unless a generous relative offers to foot the bill!
