These events include the days leading up to your special day, and even hours before: Bridesmaids’ luncheons, Groomsmen’s parties, bridal showers, rehearsal dinners, and even pre-wedding dates for the bride and groom. Hilton Head Island is a huge golfing attraction, so try sending the male half of your wedding party/guests on a golf outing and take the ladies to a pampering spa day! Rent a boat from one of the marinas and try water sports on a sunny afternoon (but slather on some sunscreen—don’t want to peel under your dresses/tuxedos!).
You might find yourself scheduling quite a few meals before the big day. Rehearsal dinners, for example, occur the evening before your nuptials, and include the couple’s families and members of the bridal party. Consider going to a comfortable restaurant if many attendees have traveled far, or request more formal attire for a classy venue. Also, organize a catered luncheon for you and your ‘maids/groomsmen while you’re getting dressed and ready, the day of. In the midst of nursing nerves, or rushing around to hair and makeup, you’re likely to forget to grab something to eat unless it’s already planned ahead of time.
After the ceremony, but before the reception, what will your guests be doing while you take photos? Unless you’ve arranged for your reception to begin immediately, plan for some kind of entertainment or refreshments to keep them busy until you can join them. Hire a comedian for a couple of hours, or set up snack and beverage tables; make sure your guest book is available at that time, too.
