Invitation printers often offer packages with thank-you cards and ceremony programs. Go contemporary for a modern look or stay traditionally romantic, but make sure they’re sent out early to ensure that all intended guests will be able to make travel arrangements. The parents or guardians of the bride get to write and send the invitations. Generally, parents of the bride and groom do not receive invitations unless they want them as keepsakes; the same goes for the wedding party. Officiants and their significant others also receive invitations. To invite young adults over 18, send them individual invitations and remember to mention whether they are invited to bring a date. If you prefer children do not attend, consider addressing your envelopes only to the parents and refrain from mentioning them within the actual invitation—or add ‘Adult Reception’ at the bottom. NOTE: Don’t forget to add postage to your reply cards!
If the wedding date changes after invitations have been sent, have a corrected batch made and delivered as soon as possible to help those making travel arrangements.
